Resolution for the Day of Adoration
NATIONAL CDA
Join us on the Weekend of January 21
through 23 for Roe Vs Wade prayers.

January 22, 2010 is the 37th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme
Court decision that legalized abortion. Since that time it is estimated
that over 50 million babies have been victims of abortion. The National
Catholic Daughters of the Americas have designated January as
the month for prayers to stop abortion. We are uniting in prayer.

A RESOLUTION HAS BEEN PASSED BY BOTH NATIONAL CATHOLIC
DAUGHTERS OF THE AMEREICAS AND ARIZONA STATE CATHOLIC
                                             DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAS.
This resolution passed unanimously. It read:

"that ...Courts who cannot join the National Walk of Life in Washington D.C., should promote or participate in a day of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in their local parishes to atone for the sins of abortion on the date of the Roe vs. Wade decision, January 22."
This resolution passed unanimously.

You can sponsor the Day of Reparation by having Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in your parish. Some parishes are able to have it all day long, other have a few hours in the evening. During the Exposition hours, have different groups in the parish say the Rosary on the hour. Some other activities include Mass, Benediction, Chaplets of Mercy, etc.

Let's do it! Let’s have a day or weekend of reparation and atonement for the Sins of Abortion. It is time to sponsor a Holy Hour at your parish or to encourage participation at other parishes for healing those affected by abortions and for conversion of those who promote abortion.

We would be happy to list all the participating parishes on the following website: http://dayofadoration.com/index.html

National CDA encourages Members to contact their legislators as constituents. While the Catholic Daughters of the Americas does not support political activities, you may share our common beliefs with your legislators.

Once again we find ourselves getting wrapped up in the busy days of preparation for Christmas. Everywhere we go are the bright lights and decorations and our days are filled with our personal preparations, decorating our homes, shopping for that perfect gift for everyone on our list, writing Christmas cards, shopping for our Christmas feast or making travel plans to share Christmas with family and friends.

As Christians the church gives us a special time of spiritual preparation for the real meaning of Christmas. These four weeks of Advent are a time for us to ready ourselves for the coming of our Savior. Advent is a time of quiet anticipation. When we think about it, what is the joy of Christmas, but the joy of anticipation.

As we prepare remember to set aside some time each day to reflect during these 28 days of Advent, to be ready for Christ’s birth and make it a part of the anticipation. When you buy your stamps for those Christmas cards, celebrate Christ birth by purchasing the religious Christmas stamp. And as sales people take Christ out of Christmas with their greetings of Happy Holiday, respond back with a wish of “Merry Christmas”.

As the New Year is welcomed in, we look forward to many activities within our courts. One of the things that is coming upon us is the time for elections of court officers. As nominating committees start their job of filling a slate, I ask that if you are asked to run for an office that you please take time to think and pray and be open to the idea of serving your court by accepting an office. New officers bring fresh ideas and talents to the court to help keep the court alive and growing.

Also soon after the New Year you will receive more information about the National convention in Omaha, Nebraska in July. It is a wonderful and fun experience to attend a National convention and share the time with about 1200 other CDA sisters. So start planning to join your State Board in Omaha. This is a chance to represent your court and your state and to have a say in the workings of the Catholic Daughters.

I invite all members to attend one of the 4 workshops coming up in Jan. and Feb. These are being planned for your benefit to help you and your court to grow and succeed. The Regents will have all the information very soon.

I thank you for all the invitations to your court Christmas celebrations and I wish I could attend them all, but I haven’t learned how to clone myself.

May all of you enjoy a wonderful and blessed Christmas and all of the Christ Child’s many blessings of health and happiness in the New Year for you and your family.
